Excellent evaluation results for the “IS project” in the summer semester 2019

We are happy to announce the excellent feedback we received for the “IS project” held in the 2019 summer semester.

The majority of participating students were at the end of their Information Systems studies for either a Bachelor or a Master degree, as well as one Master student from Educationstudy.

The project seminar generally covers tasks related to scientific work, including a literature search and a critical evaluation of the identified studies, as well as implementing the developed concepts in a practical example.

Based on a real case scenario, the group of students developed (e-)learning materials for a workshop on how to conduct qualitative and quantitative research, which included the survey and interview guidelines, a sample set of survey questionnaires and interview questions, as well as report templates and interview roleplay videos.

The project prepares students for typical tasks when working in a team, as they all have to contribute individually to the project’s success. Master students are also given the opportunity to assume the group leader function and acquire important leadership and responsibility skills.

The project was mostly designed as a self-organized group task that included several attendance meetings, during which the intermediate results were presented and discussed with the supervising lecturers - Prof. Dr. Frederik Ahlemann and Anna Khodijah, M.Sc. The presentation took place at the end, during which all the complete project results were presented.

The course evaluation clarified that the students were very satisfied with the project (the evaluation scored 1.0 on a scale where 1.0 represents the best possible result).

The participating students’ overall grade average was 1,3.

We look forward to welcoming new groups of students to the next IS project seminar during the 2019/2020 winter semester.
