Nomination for best paper at the 47th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences
The paper “Managing the Achievement of Strategic Organizational Goals through Projects: Understanding the Role of Management Practices” written by Dr. Kunal Mohan and Prof. Frederik Ahlemann was nominated for the best paper award at the 47th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences that ran from January 6 to January 9. Abstract: Although management disciplines such as project management are often quoted as important means of implementing and realizing organizational strategies by enabling the realization of successful projects, there is considerable confusion in the organizational literature about how this happens. Based on a survey of 456 managers and using PLS structural equation modelling, we find that portfolio management (PPM) and benefits management practices enable an organization to achieve its planned strategic goals. While portfolio management does this directly, benefits management achieves this indirectly by reinforcing PPM with the assurance that planned project benefits will be delivered.
