Outstanding Evaluation of “Information Systems Research” Course Winter Semester 2018/2019

We are happy to announce the outstanding feedback from the “Information Systems Research” (“ISR”) course presented in the 2018/2019 winter semester.

The participating students were Master students studying Information Systems and Applied Computer Science.

The course gave them the fundamental theoretical and methodological skills needed to conceptualize, conduct, and communicate their own research.

The course included two parts: lecture sessions, presented by Prof. Frederik Ahlemann, assisted by Kevin Rehring, M.Sc.; covering all relevant concepts, and tutorial sessions led by Anna Khodijah, M.Sc., assisted by Matthias Werner, M.Sc., during which the students discussed the seminal papers and worked on a research manuscript.

Based on the course evaluation, it became apparent that the students were very satisfied with the lecture and the tutorial sessions (the lecture received a score of 2.0 and the tutorial 1.9 - with 1.0 being the best possible result).

The most important aspects that satisfied the students were the course contents’ comprehensibility, the lecturers’ readiness to answer their questions, as well as the fruitful discussions held in the tutorial.

Not only were the students happy with the course, they also passed with flying colors.

The participating students received an average grade of 2.0, with half of them achieving a grade of 1.7 or better.

This very good result (both the evaluation and the exam grades) motivates us to continue improving the course in order to provide the students with an enjoyable learning process.

We look forward to welcoming the participating students to the next ISR session in the 2019/2020 winter semester.
